WHERE WE ARE

Cortina d’Ampezzo

Cortina is 140 km away from the Venice airport and 130 km from Bolzano. It is located in the Province of Belluno, between the three regions of Veneto, Trentino and Alto Adige, and lies at an altitude of 1224 metres above sea level. Cortina d’Ampezzo has a population of about 6000.

The town is nestled in a wide valley carved out by the Boite torrent; it is surrounded by 360° of marvellous mountains, which are the Ampezzo Dolomites.

Everyone considers Cortina to be one of the most beautiful places in the world; it is also called “Queen of the Dolomites” for its unforgettable mountains, which have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage.

Anyone who comes to Cortina will come back. Celebrities like Hemingway, Montanelli, Brigitte Bardot, Clark Gable, Ingrid Bergman, Fred Buscaglione and Alberto Sordi used to come here, giving it that image of the “Dolce Vita” that is still palpable today.

The town boasts an exceptional, millennial history and whether in winter or summer it attracts tourists from all over the world, who come to enjoy the beautiful scenery, the plentiful sports activities and events, the vibrant atmosphere of the establishments in the town centre, the elegant shops, the quality restaurants and the warm welcoming hotels.

Cortina is the only Italian town that is a part of the Best of the Alps, the association that joins the 12 most refined mountain villages in the Alps.
