Local desserts for every one

On Thursday and Shrove Tuesday the Tofana – Freccia nel Cielo invites skiers and their guests to color the tracks with masks or disguises.

Instead in the kitchens of the Restaurants Col Druscié and Capanna Ra Valles the famous local carafoi will be prepared and offered to make these days even more tasty.

Carnival is considered a period of celebration and in the past its meaning recalled the ‘reverse world’ where at least for a short time the people joined the joke mood.

The Carnival celebrations recall in fact ancient festivities such as the Roman saturnali or the Greek Dionysiacs while today they are part of the Catholic tradition: perhaps you did not know that the word Carnevale comes from the Latin ‘carnem levare’ and means ‘avoiding the meat’ as a moment of celebration that precedes Lent.
