Twenty five years after it first came out, the remake of the 90’s film “Point Break” is coming to cinemas all over the world. In the new episode, some of the more spectacular motorcycle scenes were filmed against the breath taking scenery of the Dolomites, particularly on the Tofana Freccia nel Cielo Funicular lift.
The 1991 blockbuster featured fantastic scenes of bank robberies perpetrated by a gang of thieves, who wore rubber masks of 4 ex- United States presidents (Ronald Reagan, Lyndon B Johnson, Richard Nikon and Jimmy Carter) as disguises.
Now Ericson Core is directing the remake of the film. It is set in the world of extreme sports. The protagonist is a young FBI agent who infiltrates an “environmental” criminal organization. In one of the most thrilling scenes he jumps onto the roof of the Tofana Freccia nel Cielo Funicular lift: it’s an adrenalin- infused vision that not only keeps the audience glued to their seats; it also shows the wider public the beauty of the entire mountain resort surrounding Cortina, the “Queen of the Dolomites”.
